DTS has been designed to be taught within a local church environment, small group meeting, or over the internet, over a period of between eighteen months and two years. It has also been designed so that if a person goes through it once, they can teach it to other disciples.

 

It is basic Christian teaching in the discipling process suitable for all believers and helps move them individually into becoming true Disciples of Christ Jesus.

 

It gives disciples the ability to become self-maintaining in their discipleship growth. This course is designed to help disciples recruit; raise; train and release other disciples into action. It is not a Bible school; it places practical spiritual power into the hands of committed disciples who want to be obedient to the call of Jesus in their lives. As a teaching course it is flexible, and while some parts of the teaching may be abridged, there are other parts which are absolutely essential.

 

The Lord has called Life House Church to share this teaching with other individuals, groups and local churches through running Discipleship Training Schools. A Discipleship Manual has been developed and Life House Church’s apostolic teams go out and teach people how to use and implement this manual and develop a Discipleship Training Environment within a local church or their own home.

 

The teaching has to follow the “Jesus discipleship model” of “watch me do it – come with me and we’ll do it together – let me see you do it – now “GO” and do it in like manner” and is, therefore, totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit. Teachers have to teach the course, not “teach the notes”, and have to be listening to God all the time. As far as possible, every teaching session (hearing) should be followed by demonstration ministry (seeing), after which students are released to minister to each other in the same way (doing). This all has to be led by the Holy Spirit. These teachers from Life House are all Disciples and are at various levels of experience in their walk and come from various different calls, further demonstrating the versatility of the use of this material, that anyone can begin using and teaching this material under Kingdom anointed supervision.

 

DTS Level 1 provides basic foundational teaching for becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. From here trainees can advance to Level 2: Leading a Team of Disciples on Mission. Level 2 provides training on how to make disciples.
